I still consider getting SXL, I just wish there would be a good discount for me to justify spending the money when I bought Session for half the price back when it was in its early EA days. If you like one more than the other, that's also perfectly fine. Mind you, there's currently no animation for getting on and off the board, though. The cherry on top is the fact that you can get off your board and walk on foot a la Skate. If memory serves, you need that physics mod to get SXL to feel a little more realistic, like Session does. It even has missions, with an actual storyline (though it's not winning any BAFTAs), daily challenges, historical challenges (loads of them), unlockables. Not that that's a bad thing, but it depends entirely on what you want out of you skating sim.Īs mentioned, Session has more going for it. a "soft" 1.0, also feels more like a game, whereas SXL have always felt a bit like a tech demo for this specific concept of skating game (again, the control scheme). They have a similar approach to control scheme (each stick corresponding to a foot), but different executions.
